The groups for Electronic Sports World cup have been announced.
After qualifiers and tournaments all over the world, only the best teams made it to this year’s ESWC at France, the tournament will see twenty teams divided into four groups of five team in each group battle it out for a prize of a total $33,000 set for this year’s tournament in 1.6 male tournament.
Winners in both the female and the male tournament will receive $12,000, while the runners-up receiving half the first price $6,000.
Only eight of these twenty teams were handled special request invites to the event, while the rest of the teams have gained access through qualification both national and online.
Only last year’s champions will be except from the qualification needs and will as the other eight team go straight to the championship.
After the playoff in each group there will be a total of eight teams competing forward in the championship, which literally means 60% of the teams won’t even make it true to the playoffs.
The playoffs itself will be played as usual in a best of three with a single-elimination manner.
